The Devils have signed a multiyear extension of their sponsorship agreement with RWJBarnabas Health that ensures they will wear the healthcare provider network’s logo on their home jerseys. The Devils and RWJBarnabas have been partners for nearly 30 years. Financial terms of the extension were not disclosed, but NHL jersey patch agreements (for combined home and away rights) are typically valued in the mid-seven figures. The Devils consulted with Elevate throughout the evaluation process. RWJBarnabas also worked with an agency, but declined to identify which one.
The deal is the Devils’ first jersey partnership, and the team does not yet have a sponsor for its road jerseys. Arena naming-rights partner Prudential Financial has its logo on the team’s helmets for home games, while diversity recruiting marketplace Pedul has its logo on the team’s helmets for road games as part of the team’s Buy Black initiative.
In addition to the jersey patch, the Devils and RWJBarnabas developed a youth hockey program that will reach more than 40 hockey rinks throughout N.J. RWJBarnabas will also continue to be the presenting partner of the Devils’ annual Hockey Fights Cancer Night and expand on a variety of community initiatives.
